Our workshop kicked off with a site tour with the Design Team - a group of key stakeholders, developers, CAI Staff, interested citizens, county, state and federal agencies. After reconvening at the Malu`uluolele Cultural Center, a set of presentations was given by the project sponsors regarding the status of four major infrastructure projects currently planned for Lahaina Town. The four projects are:

  1. The Lahaina Bypass
  2. The Mill Street Extension
  3. Honoapi'ilani Widening
  4. Flood Control Project
The afternoon was filled with group discussion between the community and the Design Team to identify issues and opportunities to coordinating these four projects. Included in this was a discussion related to how transportation impacts the daily lives of residents and the vision for Lahiana's future.
